Sixty four years ago, on the 17 Sep. 1950, India recognized the young State of Israel.
The Israeli ambassador to India, Daniel Carmon, commented today on the occasion saying that "Whatever started on 17th of September, 64 years ago as an act of diplomatic recognition, evolved through the years into friendship and full diplomatic relations in 1992. Since then, deep and comprehensive relations had emerged, encompassing nearly every field from culture to agriculture, from people to people, security to food security. These topics influence the lives of Indians and Israelis on a daily basis. Looking to the future, I have no doubt that we will continue to further strengthen the relations to the betterment of the livelihood and the prosperity of both our nations."
